Best version of Office for XP Pro SP3?
I need to upgrade my office suite and need some recommendations.
I have a single processor windows xp professional service pack 3 system. 2gig ram and i use production software like adobe suit and sound forge. oh also if you know of better software; I don’t have to stay with Microsoft products.
i am not looking for software that is bolted and buggy. ( XP vista for example) and I tried Google Docs and it just doesn’t mend to my work flow.
I’ve used open office in the past and that was buggy and awful. How are the newer releases?

I certainly don’t recommend Microsoft Office 2007. If you’re going for a Microsoft suite, Office 2003 would definitely be my choice.
Can’t comment on older versions of OpenOffice but I’ve found the newer versions to be very good. Wouldn’t say it’s AS good as Microsoft Office, but as a no-cost alternative it’s superb, and it’s light years better than Microsoft Works and any of the other bargain basement options.
