Does anyone have any tips on getting used to wearing rubber bands on braces?

I have to wear these rubber bands and they are sooo annoying does anyone have any tips for me or home remedies to lessen the irritation?

They are well annoying i know
but my orthodontist told me when i’m not using them to put them on my little finger – but my finger is too big and started cutting off the blood, so i put them around my knife or fork
also ask ur family members to help remind u about them
when i first got them i put a sticky note just above my door handle saying ‘have you put new elastics on?’ it reminded me to put new ones on but also to check if i had them on
they are painful to start with unfortunately, but what i did is i said i would take them off for an hour then put them on for an hour (it lessens the pain)
once you get used to them you totally forget them, I’ve had elastics for about 4-5 months now and most of the time i totally forget they are there, and try to brush my teeth with them on
also i had a bit of glue or whatever it is stuck in one of the hooks which meant my elastics kept popping off, next time i went to the orthodontist she did lots of drilling at the glue to get it out and now they are fine
