Is there an equivalent of hydrocortisone otic Zymox available in the UK?
A vet recommended this line to my ears of dogs, but can not find in the UK and U.S. options not seem to work, since no boat here. Is there anything with this ingredient in this case?
Try calling here and asking. If no then you should be able to tell. http://www.hyperdrug.co.uk/default.asp

Ciliary Ganglion
$60.09 The ciliary ganglion is a parasympathetic ganglion located in the posterior orbit. It measures 1-2 millimeters in diameter and contains approximately 2,500 neurons. Preganglionic axons from the Edinger-Westphal nucleus form synapses with these cells. The postganglionic axons run in the short ciliary nerves and innervate two eye muscles: the sphincter pupillae constricts the pupil, know as Miosis. The opposite, Mydriasis, is the dilation of the pupil. the ciliaris muscle contracts, releasing tension on the Zonular Fibers, making the lens more convex, also known as accommodation. Both of these muscles are involuntary - they are controlled by the autonomic nervous system. It is one of four parasympathetic ganglia of the head and neck. (The others are the submandibular ganglion, pterygopalatine ganglion, and otic ganglion). |

Development of the Inner Ear
$79.26 From the reviews:pSince I was committed to writing several comprehensive reviews about ear development, I had anticipated that the book would be of a great help in these endeavors and I was not disappointed. Typical of this series, the seven chapters are authoritative, thoughtful, and timely treatises a ] . there remains ample need for the deeper and more scholarly full-length treatises offered here. My looming sense of despair about ever staying abreast of the literature a ] has been mollified a ] through the valiant efforts of these authors. (Donna M-Fekete, The Quarterly Review of Biology, Vol. 81, December, 2006)pThis book presents a highly detailed and up-to-date report of the state of experimental embryology of the vertebrate inner ear. a ] Descriptive micrographs and illustrations are excellent and add much to the text. This book will be of great value to scientists and students working in the disciplines associated with development of the inner ear. (American Journal of Neuroradiology, Vol. 29, April, 2008)pThis book describes the embryonic development of the vertebrate inner ear in six chapters that span all aspects of inner ear development, from the induction of the otic placode through cellular morphogenesis, to the onset of auditory function. In each chapter, a particular aspect of development of the inner ear is examined in terms of both classic embryologic experiments and more recent advances using molecular biological techniques. |

White Picket Fences and Homemade Apple Pies
$19.71 Everyone has an opinion about America. In an unwanted child kind of way, Sigmund Freud declared, America is a mistake, a giant mistake. This is juxtaposed by Thomas Jefferson's passionate plea, My God! How little do my countrymen know what precious blessings they are in possession of, and which no other people on earth enjoy! The beauty about America is that all her citizens have sufficient freedom of voice and freedom of choice, whether or not those voices and choices are challenged, to not be rendered completely enslaved and marginalized. We may not all see eye to eye, but our precious Constitution protects our unique ideas, thoughts and visions and there is somewhere in this great land of ours where we can all find at least an ounce of solace enough for us to nurture our dreams and to breathe freedom. White Picket Fences And Homemade Apple Pies presents my interpretation of some of these thoughts and observations about people, places and variegated socio-political, cultural and patri-otic things in America. In the end, Robert G. Ingersoll states it most excellently, He loves his country best who strives to make it best. Very little of what we say about America will mean much unless we ourselves seek to make America great! When we undermine America, we undermine ourselves. Only our daily commitment to make America great, at home and abroad, will actually make America great. This is the mark of a true patriot. |

Excerpt from book: their intellect. But one cannot forgive them their turning into emotional hoodlums, their joining hands with the superpatri- otic profiteers and sadistic 100 per centers, their acquiescence in and approval of the crushing of free speech, free press and of-the torturing and jailing of every dissenter and conscientious objector; this one can never forgive them. In no other country in the world?and I am making the statement after careful consideration?did the radicals show themselves such intellectual weaklings and moral cowards, nowhere else did they so pitiably betray the cause of humanity. Even some of our anarchists, propaganda-of-the-deed-revolutionists, uncompromising atheists and loudly self-proclaimed internationalists swallowed the atrocity propaganda and the fiction of German plots in this country, professed a belief that the Germans are really a nation with a special psychology which renders them inhuman and they therefore must be treated in an inhuman manner, and by the aid of this self-deception they justified themselves in becoming denouncers, in becoming aids and tools of our infamously ignorant department of justice. It was a great spectacle to see an uncompromising internationalist dancing to the same tune, arm and arm with a bloodthirsty reactionary or an agent provocateur.. At a great personal risk I stated frankly what I -thought of those traitorous radicals; the result was that I not only was annoyed by Government spies and stool pigeons, but I lost a number of friends and acquaintances, and the breach between the radicals and myself became still greater. The peculiar thing was that the ultra-revolutionists became frenziedly pro- war, while the moderate radicals preserved their sanity. I trust I will not be misunderstood as wishing to imply that I have a lo... |

Excerpt from book: A STUDY OF MENTAL DISEASES ASSOCIATED WITH CEREBRAL ARTERIO-SCLEROSIS.1 By ALBERT M. BARRETT, M. D., Pathologist and .Assistant Physician, Danvers Insane Hospital, and Assistant in Neuropathology in the Harvard University Medical School. (From the Pathological Laboratory of the Danvers Insane Hospital.) At the present time there are three forms of mental disease which seem to be associated with characteristic changes in the central nervous system; these are general paralysis, arterio-scler- otic dementia and less certainly senile dementia. The better understanding of the pathological anatomy of general paralysis and the importance which plasma cell infiltration of the vessel wall is known to play, has cleared the way for the separation of the arterio-sclerotic brain diseases. In the same way the recognition of a senile brain atrophy without arterio-sclerosis shows an independence of two processes, often associated in the brain in the senile period. Difficulty in the interpretation of the importance of the arterio- sclerotic process occurs from the fact that arterio-sclerosis of the cerebral vessels is not uncommon in various forms of mental disease, especially of the later years of life, and that undoubtedly arterio-sclerosis of the cerebral vessels may be present without recognizable mental disease. There are however certain forms of mental disturbance which clinically show such a prominence of symptoms referable to focal or diffuse vascular brain disease, and which anatomically are associated with destructive lesions of the brain due to diseased vessels that they may be grouped among the psychoses due to organic brain disease as a special group of arterio-sclerotic dementia. The dementia associated with coarse vascular lesions such as haemorrhage and softening ... |

Ephemera, Greek Prose Poems
$28.7 INTRODUCTION Twenty-five of these pastels, under the title of Syrinx, were published in the spring of 1914. The others, which make up the present volume, have never before appeared in print. In contrast to the simpler forms and vistas of Syrinx, a new series has been drawn from the more complex, more voluptuous, life of olia and the Archipelago. On the isles beyond the shores of Hellas, many races lived and mingled, rising and falling, migrating, building and destroying. Perhaps the otic direct ideal shining through this exotic kaleidoscope was the reflection of that idealism of Beauty which transfigured alI lands and peoples where the influence of the IIellenes was feIt. It describes more than 5300 trade name products and 4000 generic chemicals and materials, available from worldwide manufacturers, that function as pharmaceutical additives. Pharmaceutical additives are defined in this reference as secondary ingredients present in both prescription and over-the-counter drug formulations and contributing in one or more of the following ways: Improving consumption ease of the dosage form by masking unpleasant odor, improving palatibility or appearance of the active ingredient. Enabling or enhancing the delivery of the drug or medicine that is available in a variety of dosage forms (i.e., oral; topical, ophthalmic, and otic; suppositories; injectables; inhalants) and thus improving its efficacy, control of bioavailability, uniformity, and/or flow characteristics Increasing the stability of active ingredients Acting as a filler or diluent so that an adequate amount of material is available to properly fill a dosage form Acting as an antimicrobial or antioxidant to extend the shelf life of the active ingredient Thus, the definition of pharmaceutical additives for the purpose of this work encompasses excipients, synergists, or chemicals that substantively contribute to the effectiveness of the active ingredient. Entries for both trade names and chemicals contain extensive information gathered from worldwide manufacturers, distributors, trade journals, government documents, and other reference sources. Scott, for School Board. /. 0. Ulrich, for Joseph P. Rogers. Shay, J., March 27, 1905, after stating the substance of the bill and answer, made the following FINDINGS OF FACTS. In the Township of Rahn, Schuylkill County, is situate the large village of Coal Dale, in which is Otic school house, built upon a lot 150 feet front on Phillips street, and 200 feet deep. The uncontradicted evidence clearly establishes the fact that this school building is notoriously inadequate for the needs of the district. Adjacent to this school lot on the east is the property of Joseph Rogers, on which are erected five houses fronting on Second street, with their rear facing the school building. The outhouses attached to each house are on the rear of these lots and within thirty feet of the school building. Negotiations had been going on for some time prior to April n, 1904, between the owner of this lot, J. P. Rogers, and the school district, for the purchase of the same, and which negotiations culminated on the night in question by the resolution of the board of directors to purchase this lot for $5,750. The complainant then filed its bill, alleging fraud in the transaction, and a violation of the discretion lodged by law in a school board. They offer in their bill to sell to the school district the two lots on the ... |

II.?Anatomical and Physiological Description of the Otic Ganglion. Extracted from Arnold's Kopftheil des vegetativen Nervensystems beim Menschen, (The Cephalic part of the Vegetative Nervous System in Man.) Translated from the German by William Salmon Tylee, Esq. Devizes. T' '' HE ganglion oticum sive auriculare, called also by Professor Tiedemann, Ganglion Arnoldi, is situated at the internal side of the third branch of the trigeminus, (vid. plate, ) immediately under the foramen ovale, at the spot where externally the nervi temporales profundi, the nervus maxillaris, and buccinatorius branch off', a little above the point where the superficial temporal nerve is given off, where the small portion of the fifth pair unites more closely with a branch of the larger, and where the third branch, after passing through the foramen ovale, forms a slight swelling. Internally the ganglion is covered by the cartilaginous part of the Eustachian tube and the origin of the tensor palati, behind it borders on the arteria mcningea media, and its external surface is situated on the internal side of the third branch of the fifth pair. I found sometimes a variation with regard to its position, in as much as it was not so closely united with the internal side of the latter nerve, and projected partly over the anterior border of the same, being situated more forward and within than is generally the case. The ganglion oticum has an oval form, flattened on either side, and a little elongated horizontally. Its diameters are therefore very different, for in the last direction it measures on an average from 2 to 2 lines, from above downwards from 1] to 2 lines, and in thickness only to at most line. I once observed in a subject that had been idiotic a variation from the general form. The gan... |
